Arne Slot CONFIRMS Alexis Mac Allister fears but has one MAJOR question
Arne Slot has confirmed fears over Alexis Mac Allister and a potential injury. The Liverpool boss has one major question, however.
Arne Slot has confirmed that Alexis Mac Allister is injured and that’s why he was removed at half-time during Liverpool’s 1-0 win at Crystal Palace. The Argentine appeared to be in discomfort before the break when he was swapped out for Dominik Szoboszlai.

“He went off because of an injury, but how bad it is is difficult for me to judge in this moment,” he said, per Liverpoolfc.com.
“He could have continued playing, like you saw, because it didn’t happen one second before half-time, but he felt it a bit too much and he said he didn’t think it was good to keep on playing because you never know if you will make it worse.”
But Slot also had a major question about the injury. What would this mean going into the international break?
“Now, what is the exact situation, can he go to Argentina?” he asked. “Can he play over there? That is difficult for me to tell you now.
“[It’s an issue] in his groin area.”
Alexis Mac Allister injured
That is the major question. Argentina will want Mac Allister, certainly, and may be prepared to take a risk here. A risk that Liverpool would much rather they didn’t take.
The midfielder isn’t the only concern, of course, with Alisson Becker also leaving the match early. He’s got a hamstring problem and it appears that Slot isn’t too optimistic about that one.
This is also a muscle problem – and one that could end up being a serious problem if Argentina aren’t careful here. If they choose caution here, though, the international break presents a perfect opportunity for Mac Allister to rest up and recover.
Time will tell what happens, and we’ll be waiting along with Arne Slot.
