Liverpool reignite interest in wonderkid who could be their NEW James Milner
Liverpool are once again proving that they still have what it takes to compete and currently sit top of the Premier League table.
Arne Slot has his new team performing better than many expected and his impact can already be seen in the improved performances of players like Luis Diaz and Ryan Gravenberch, who are now key parts of the team.
The new regime at Liverpool have emphasised their focus on improving the players who are already at the club but they have also actively sought out good value deals in the transfer market, something Michael Edwards is well known for.
The signing of Federico Chiesa and the agreed deal for Giorgi Mamardashvili show the kind of deal Liverpool are looking for in the market, and they may have just found another player who fits the mould.

Liverpool’s interest in Dorgu reignited
Lecce fullback Patrick Dorgu has reportedly been on Liverpool’s radar for a while and now reports from Italy are claiming that the Reds could be ready to step up their interest.
According to Tutto Mecarto Web, Liverpool are one of a number of teams keen on signing Dorgu, who is under reportedly contract until 2029.
The report also states that Napoli, AC Milan, Chelsea and Tottenham are interested in the 19-year-old and therefore the Reds aren’t expected to have a clear run at his signature.
Although the report doesn’t state a likely price for the youngster, Football Transfers value him at €12.5 million and the demand for the player is likely to drive the price even higher.
Who is Dorgu?
Dorgu isn’t yet a household name but has already made 37 appearances in Serie A at just 19-years-old.
The Denmark international is versatile and able to play all over the pitch, playing the majority of his games at left-back last season and at right-wing this season, and could offer depth to Liverpool in a number of positions.
Liverpool are in the position where they could lose Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold next summer as the trio are all on contracts that expire in June.
Whilst negotiations are set to begin to keep the trio at the club, the outlay on any players singed as replacements will be great and therefore bargain deals for players like Dorgu, who are young and versatile, could be key to the Reds’ future success.
