Liverpool transfer news today: SHOCK Zubimendi move, Alexander-Arnold REPLACEMENT & Wonderkid targeted
Here’s the latest Liverpool transfer news for you to catch up on today Tuesday October 1st.
Liverpool eye La Liga breakout to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold
The prospect of Alexander-Arnold leaving Liverpool at the expiration of his contract prompted the team to begin looking for fresh right-back candidates.
If Alexander-Arnold is to leave the club, European Champions Real Madrid seem the likely suitor to sign the defender where he’ll join up with good friend Jude Bellingham.
A CaughtOffside report states that one option to have been unearthed from Liverpool’s shortlist is the versatile Sevilla star, Juanlu Sanchez, with reports now surfacing with claims that the Reds are interested in one of LaLiga’s breakout stars.
The full-back is contracted at Sevilla until 2026 so the Spanish side may have to cash in on Sanchez to avoid risk of losing him on a free transfer.
The report also suggests Sevilla’s asking price would be €25m (£21m).

Liverpool looking to STEAL versatile £13m Manchester United target
TBR Football are reporting that Liverpool are eyeing Argentina under-23 international Kevin Zenon. Zenon, who currently plies his trade at Argentinian giants Boca Juniors, has spent his time moving between a left midfield and left wing position this season.
Whilst this boils down to Boca largely setting up in a flat 4-4-2, it does raise the question of where Liverpool picture Zenon fitting into their side.
With Manchester United and Newcastle United also interested in the midfielder, the report states that Zenon has a £12.7m release clause in his contract, meaning any transfer would be as much about Zenon’s desire than anything else.
Liverpool could aim to woo him with success on the pitch this season.

Zubimendi decides his next destination
Despite a deal looking likely at times throughout the summer, Zubimendi decided to remain at his boyhood club Real Sociedad and sign a new contract.
No new contract has been signed yet though and, with Real Sociedad currently sitting 14th in the table after eight games, the Euros winner may be reconsidering his future.
According to TBR Football, Zubimendi has decided he wants to join Real Madrid despite lingering interest from Liverpool. It would see the Reds lose another transfer target to Los Blancos, having previously seen Aurelien Tchouameni, Rodrygo Goes, Eduardo Camavinga, Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe head to Madrid.
The report also claims that Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester City are interested in the 25-year-old, which could make a Liverpool return for the midfielder that much harder.

Liverpool reignite interest in wonderkid
According to Tutto Mecarto Web, Liverpool are one of a number of teams keen on signing Dorgu, who is under reportedly contract until 2029.
The report also states that Napoli, AC Milan, Chelsea and Tottenham are interested in the 19-year-old and therefore the Reds aren’t expected to have a clear run at his signature.
Although the report doesn’t state a likely price for the youngster, Football Transfers value him at €12.5 million and the demand for the player is likely to drive the price even higher.
